Did you disconnect the "spout" connector when you set the timing?

Timing may be worn some to set it be the timing mark suggested if you do not have a timing light or if you do advance timing slowly then stop while having someone in vehicle push gas pedal then let it go everytime you advance timing and stop keep doing this until vehicle does not does not stall out when gas pedal is pressed.
I did disconnect the spout connector. And set timing according to the sticker on the truck. I also used a timing light to set 10 btdc..also noticed timing would move when accelerating
It wasn't doing this prior to replacing the ICM under the distributor.
If there is a vacuum pot on the distributor it also needs to be disconnected and the vacuum line plugged while setting the initial timing.
