my vw beetle wont start and no power new battery, any ideas

The Key thob stopped unlocking the car but it did lock, was unlocking with the key, was
left over the weekend and this morning went to start and unlocked the door went to start
but nothing, when I turned the key back a light on the dash but then nothing now no lights
at all not even the security light on the door, no power what so ever. charging battery all
day but nothing

well a good question to ask is where did you purchase this battery ? im willing to bet if you did not by it from a vw or audi dealer you probly got the wrong one or a bad one. Do your self a favor take that battery out take it back get your money back. Then grab your old battery go to vw or audi dealer ship and buy a brand new one from them. they will give you the right battery and a brand new never been rebuilt one for like 129$ canadain on my end. then try your car out oh and make sure you tighten the posts and check all your grounds. make sure they are tight and clean.
