why wont my vw 1972 beetle start

carberator is clean . new coil , new plugs points and condenser and I get spark to plugs . engine timing is set. gaps is set on points 0.40 and  plugs 0.025. checked the fuel pump both sides .

I would double check the timing and if you have a dwell meter also check the point dwell.
