Well, if it's a manual transmission, it could be your clutch is aging and nearing need for replacement. Also, your front tires may be worn to the point of losing traction easily. Try rotating the fronts to the rear and vice-versa. Any chance of getting it checked by a skilled mechanic? At 10 years old, if on the original clutch, it's overdue replacement.
