1971 CHALLENGER HOOD PINS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
MY 1971 CHALLENGER RT HAD AN AFTERMARKET FIBERGLASS LIFT OFF HOOD WHEN I GOT IT. IT IS A 440-6 SHAKER CAR, MY QUESTION IS WOULD IT AUTOMATICALLY CAME WITH HOOD PINS WITH EITHER PACKAGE? NEITHER THE BUILD SHEET OR FENDER TAG HAS STAMPED OR CHECKED OFF. I BOUGHT A HOOD YEARS AGO AND IT HAS HOLES IN IT FOR HOOD PINS BUT THEY DO NOT LOOK LIKE A FACTORY HOLE. I AM TRYING TO PUT IT BACK THE WAY IT WAS BUILT BUT I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE HOOD PINS. THANKS, TOM1971

Hi Tom! Check these guys out. They will be able to set you up with some hood pins for your beauty. Good luck! http://www.hoodpins.com/installation.html
Thanks LouB, I'm really looking forward to driving the car again. The original owner is really excited about seeing it again. Last week he told me about driving around the corner and seeing it for the first time sitting in the sun at the dealership back in '71. He's dying to see it as it was! It's still hard for me to believe he traded it in on a new Hornet Hatchback, but he needed a more fuel efficient car at the time, Funny to here that now when gas was probably around a buck a gallon then. Thank's again. Tom1971
It's getting closer and closer to being done. Found a picture of it at the track late 1978.
