Motor cranks but won't fire after starter was replaced. 5.3 liter

Asked by Jeff Jan 12, 2017 at 10:17 AM about the 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Even if I pushed on the fuel pressure regulator, (
that looks like a valve stem), and I have fuel
shooting out? You think it's still a fuel problem?
When I turn the key I can hear the fuel pump turn
on as well. I apologize if I'm not explaining clear
enough. I know basics and been turning wrenches
a long time but some things I have not got into,
without help.

If you're confident you have fuel, you might want to check for spark. If both of those are good, check your timing.
