how much should it be to replace a tie rod

Asked by christy719 Apr 02, 2012 at 06:03 PM about the 1998 Chevrolet Chevy Van

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I got new tires put on and they said the front wheel shakes which means either the ball joint or tie rod is bad. How much will it cost to fix either one? it's a 2004.

I'm guessing the people that installed your tires told you this. I would have them write down the parts they think you need and go to your local auto parts store find prices then compare with what they are charging.
