1967 Ford XL 390 4bbl ... Factory Ram Air

Asked by GuruNY2YH Oct 16, 2019 at 02:04 AM about the Ford Galaxie

Question type: General

I recall a neighbour with a ‘67 Ford XL, 390 4bbl, 4-speed manual, that had
what appeared to be a factory ram air system.  There were white corrugated
tubes running from the air cleaner container to the front grille, all under the
hood.  The execution seemed way too clean to be aftermarket or homemade.
Does anybody know if this was an available factory option, or perhaps a Ford
Accessory that was dealer installed?

Probably an aftermarket setup. I don't think Ford ever offered a ram air set up in the Galaxie. They did back in 64 for the Thunderbolt Fairlane but that was a drag racing special.
