Ford Bantam Rocam 1.3i Misfiring Issues
My ford bantam rocam 1.3i engine has recently been overhauled. Cylinder 2
spark plugs keeps dying. When I remove the spark plug, there seems to be
oil on the thread of the spark plug and the plug is not firing. The spark plug is
wet and smells of petrol, when I replace the spark plug with a new one, it
does the same thing over and over again, what could be the cause. I have
even gone as far as replacing the injectors but still no progress, what could
be the problem?

When you overhauled the engine, were the cylinder bores, rebored with new pistons ? Check the indition of the HT leads. How are the Valve stem seals ? Were they replaced ?

I might check my coil, in addition to the information above. Because if the coil is faulty, then how does it distribute the electrons through the plug wires or even the spark plugs??
Jay, These engines were made by Ford Motor Company in Port Elizabeth. I was there during the developement. Check the coil pack.
Well the coil pack and injectors have been replaced as I also suspected that might be the cause.
like I was saying)) and you guys have MUCH more points than I do.
This could also be an Injector driver in the PCM. where this injector are staying open. Check also the injector harness for No 2 Cylinder has a short circuit or not.
