I have a 2004 Jeep Cherokee Laredo. The check engine light comes on and goes off intermittently.

I had a diagnostic at autozone and they said I needed an o2 sensor in bank 1 but that should not be causing intermittent check engine light.  The diagnostics suggested a lose fuse, or wiring problem.  The light was just off for 40 miles and came back on when I put the air conditioning on.  Any ideas...suggestions? I'm due for inspection end of month June 2015 so I'm getting kind of antsy.

First thing would be to replace the 02,then see if engine light return,s,and yes it will cause the engine light to come and go.

check the wiring to the o2, could be rubbin on some metal somewhere and shortin out.
