If the noise is faint it may just be the fuel pump but your car is a hybrid so it could be a lot of things.

I have had a good run , out of the tyres that I have had , But ,-- They are a cheaper set , and I am told by a Lexus rep that they make this whirring noise ( when they are well worn ,or,-- the tread is getting down ), Do you think that maybe the case?

I have it too 06 450h. It’s not engine related. It just goes up-and-down in frequency with the speed of the car. I wonder if it’s something to do with the hybrid system. I have 140,000 miles on mine.

It is definitely rear wheel bearings. It's very common on Toyota/Lexus.
