gas pump won't turn on

I have a 99 Chevy Silverado and the pump won't
turn on when I turn on the ignition but we put it
direct from the switch realy to the pump one and
as soon as you turn on the igniton the pump would
turn on will it be the switch or some sensor

    The fuel pump comes on for 2-3 seconds when you turn the key on. Truck starts and runs for a few seconds til it runs out of gas because the fuel pump does not come back on.
