Why won't car start?

I turn key and no dash lights and
car won't turn over

Blown main fuse, bad battery cables, bad battery, security system in full active mode.

A catastrophic failure such as this is going to be battery related or the main fuse in the underhood fuse box is blown. If the security system were involved you'd get lights and everything but when you try to start the engine you would only get a rapid chime sound (with lights and everything coming on). Jump start or get a new battery. If you are not comfortable doing this, just about any shop will get you back on the road.
