I have a 2003 Ford Expedition 4.6, I turn it on but if I let go of the gas pedal it turns off, but while driving long distance it drives perfect even the cruise control works. What can it be I have changed out the fuel filter but still did the same.

Check air filter and clean throttle body add Lucas Fuel Injector Cleaner to gas tank.
