2006 Grand Caravan oil light problem

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan. I've never had
the oil light come on,  to my recollection, until I
switched mechanics.  When he does the oil
change, it goes over the hash mark area on the
dipstick. I asked him why he overfills it. He insisted
that he puts four quarts in, which is required. In
addition my owner's manual, it requires 5 quarts!
All I know is when the oil is changed over the years,
it was always in the hash mark. Oil light goes off
and on now.  He's thinking I have the wrong
dipstick in there possibly. My primary concern is
I'm going to blow seals.

You need to find another mechanic or go back to the first one when I do a oil change I always start the vehicle for about 10 to 20 seconds then recheck oil level on dip stick if it is low add more of to much let some out until in hatch marks or full.

Almost looks like a quart and half over. I can't figure out why he showed me four quarts on the specs online, and then we see 5 quarts in the owner's manual.
