Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So a friend (who doesnt know shit about engines) drove his van over here right after having water pump replaced earlier that day. Then he could not start it up to leave. That was last Thursday!!!
It turns over, once in a while it tries to fire, it has a weak spark at the plug. So we checked the following things, good spark coming from ignition coil, distributor is turning, ether in the throttle body did not help, changed out battery with new one. We think its the pick up coil or PCM, however we live in an area that only has a few shots and not one of them has the right testing machine to check that. So we were wondering if there is a way or video out there that we could watch to test the pickup coil and the PCM? Please help as my husband and I have been trying to help this guy get his van running for quite a while. Love the dude but really need to get that thing fixed thank you
