Asked by TnCGreen710 Sep 03, 2018 at 12:14 PM about the 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee STD 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It blew a power steering line which
caused a fire on drivers side don't look
like it did any damage, but since then it
started running very rough, then just
stop running at all and won't start back.
Jeep is only used around farm never
put on road. Any quick cheap fix?

I would guess that fire burned off/grounded a wire needed to run. Look for something burnt or scan for fault codes which might point you in the right direction.

I got it to start by putting a big marine battery on it but only with the accelerator push to the floor and its not revving up but sounds like its only running on one or two cylinders. Could it have jump timing
