Tranny Slips out of gear when turning left.

Asked by Jeepdude Mar 12, 2010 at 12:39 PM about the 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello,

I have been dealing with this issue for several months.  I notice it when driving and turning left and also turning left off a stop.
My jeep around 15-20 mph when turning left pops out of gear and I lose power to the rear wheels until I complete the turn and then depending on how fast the RPM are it re-engages and drive fine.  Suprisignly enough this does not happen when turning right.

Any ideas?

Thank you,

I can only guess low transmission fluid level, all the fluid sloshes to one sid of the trans pan and and the pump runs dry untill the car straightens out.
