thermostat housing? Looks like hose connection is
straiaght to water pump?

Overflow tanks don't circulate water. If the Jeep is not overheating you don't have a problem.

Looking into the radiator, you won't see coolant flowing until the thermostat gets hot enough (195F) to open up. The upper radiator hose goes to the thermostat housing. The lower radiator hose goes to the water pump. F_O_R is correct. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
