Staring issues ??

one odd problem i had that gave similar symptoms was my original starter (409k miles!) had a worn braided wire ground on the starter housing. Actually it had rusted and crumbled away when i grabbed it. it was one of the few places under my car that even had rust so it was very noticeable. Replaced my starter with a shiny used starter from the junkyard and boom, problem solved
