howtoremovevalvecovers

Without knowing what engine you have, I cannot be precise. However, most valve covers are held to the cylinder head by either 4 or 6 fasteners (screws, bolts, etc.) along the perimeter lip of the cover. Some are held on by fasteners that go down through the top of the cover (usually 2 in this style). If you are removing the cover, remember to replace the valve cover gasket when you reassemble. The old one will likely break apart when you pull the cover off and if you do not replace it you will start leaking oil from around the cylinder head.
