You need to have the codes read to know what is wrong. You can buy a code reader or have a mechanic or a auto parts store read them. Once you know the codes, post a question here for more help.
Right on there F.o.R. I have ben liking how you word your answers!

Might be easier to buy a cheap Actron (et al) scanner and read the code(s) yourself. You'll definitely need it periodically if you have a dozen year old Subie.
I had the codes pulled up and It was the crankshaft sensor

Great. Easy 5 minute fix! It's just a small electromagnet.
the cruise control always trips with the cel. Does not mean there is anything wrong with the cruise.
Have you had anything checked since 2 months ago? If there is anything wrong with the cruse control, it would not case the CEL to come on. There probably is not anything wrong with the cruse control. Have you had the codes checked? Gotta get what ever is causing the CEL to come on fixed.
I have found that the fuel pump sensor is another trigger for CEL and it is also tied to cruise control.
