2008 Subaru forester cruise light flashing and check engine light is on

There are trouble codes waiting to be read. This is how Subaru gets your attention.
Go to your local auto parts store and let them know that you have a check engine light on. They will tell you the code and do some research before you make any purchase for parts. Contact a Subaru dealer about the codes.

Undo your petrol cap. Put on straight and make sure it clicks a few times. Warning lights will disappear, it's just a sensor being a bugger. (Make sure she's warmed up before driving.) (I own a Premium XS and it done this a couple months ago. Engine light and and cruise control lights started Flashing

It’s the crankshaft sensor. My 2010 forester was doing the same mechanic fixed it about 2 weeks ago
