I have a 2004 subaru and have just replaced the transmission, clutch, air conditioner and now I am told it needs a cam shaft. There is an oil leak (somewhere) coolant does is not leaking. 244K miles. Should we fix and sell or fix and keep. We have spent around 1700 already and will be spending another 1500.

If the car is in good condition buy another engine (there should be loads of them ) with <80 k on them. If you open the current engine up it will need more than a cam. With the work already done and a fresh engine you should get another 200 k out of it. My wife has one, I am amazed at the reliability of it...
