Smart Key works but unlock buttons do not, what could be the issue.

Asked by chadw82 Jan 06, 2016 at 08:45 AM about the 2005 Toyota Prius FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I am not able to unlock and lock the car with the fob.  The only way to
unlock the car is either using the smart ket (being close to door and
pushing button or using the actual key.  When locking I have to lock it
before I close the door.  I have changed the battery in 2 different key fobs.
I have also switched off the smart ket feature and turned back on with no
resolve.  Please direct me as to what I should do.

Hello, Sometimes after a battery is being replaced you need to pair the Key FOB with the car. Depending on the make and model of the car. Check for pairing procedure for KEY FOB. Hope it works. Goodluck
