Car starts fine, but when put in drive or reverse the car won't move and when I press the gas a screeching noise will come and will jerk

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The other day I was driving when I heard a
humming noise that would not stop from the
freeway to my house. The next day I tried to drive it
but when I put it in drive or reverse it would barely
move and start screeching. I've refilled the
transmission fluid because it was low and it still has
this problem. I'm not sure what's happening

Note: I don't have a check engine light on and the exhaust is leaking small amounts of fluid.
