Engine light on

Asked by Rodionoff21_ Mar 02, 2019 at 01:52 PM about the 1999 Toyota RAV4 4 Door

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1999 RAV4. New battery. Drive it home. Next day,
the engine light came on. Took it back. New
alternator. Ran ok. It's been sitting since the
alternator repair. Drove it the last two days. Put
gas in it today and the engine light came on again.
Until the last year, have had no problems with this
car. Help please.

If you are using the 87 octane gas start using the middle grade or better yet the high octane gas the low octane is causing the check engine light to come on. Or you can add a octane booster to the 87 octane gas.
