96 dodge ram 5.2 no spark after swapping to 98 5.2

I swapped motors from 96 dodge ram 1500 and
put a 98 ram 1500 motor back in same hook ups
with new wiring harness bolted right up to
transmission all grounds are good and new
cps,new distributor, am not getting any spark could
the computer for the 1996 motor be not letting the
1998 to send signal from distributor to plugs
