Recently bought 06 dodge 1500 problems

Asked by Michael Mar 04, 2019 at 03:39 PM about the 2006 Dodge RAM 1500 SLT Quad Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently bought a 06 dodge 1500 from a dealership. On th second day of
owning it, I was driving and hit a few bumps and all the gauges light up and
thI check engine light blinked. It turned off after a few seconds but the check
engine light stayed on, it was not on previously. Then when making s turn
about an hour later, I lost power steering, braking, and my gas pedal would do
nothing when pushed. The check engine light blinked again and the check
gauges light came on along with the abs light and a few others. What could
be causing this? A friend of mine who is a mechanic told me it could be the
alternator.

It could be the alternator but to find out for sure, you can have your truck hooked up to a diagnostic at a parts store or a shop and see what the engine codes are.
