How do I change the dash bulbs

My check engine light wont go on ....what is involved to change the bulb????? Do i have to take apart the whole dash??? How hard is that?

Hi threadbare. Unless your VW dealer knows a trick I don't know, the answer is yes you probably need to dismantle the dash to some extent. And no it isn't the most fun you will ever have in your life. Drop a dime to your local VW dealership and see if there's an easier way to go about it. Good luck!

Hi threadbare, I removed the dash cluster and replaced the bulbs. It's not that difficult however, some patience is needed to replace all the screws.
