How do I reset a solid engine light and flashing cruise light?

Asked by djmsub Aug 13, 2013 at 06:44 AM about the 2007 Subaru Forester 2.5 X

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have fitted a timing belt kit but in the process of removing the crank sprocket I bent one
of the teeth on the back plate that activates a sensor for the spark timing. The car ran with
a miss and the warning lights were activated. I stripped the covers back off to find the
tooth had broken off completely so i replaced it. It now runs fine but the warning lights
remain on, is there an easy way to reset them?

usually just a matter of removing the battery from the car for about 5-10 minutes or hook it up to a OBDII code reader and clear the fault codes, any parts store should have one you could use to clear the codes right in their parking lot..

Yes I have had this problem any towns with my Subaru Forrester those combination of the lights means that the engine Is not screwed on correctly sometimes even if it is that light will go off the only way you can reset it is to unplug the battery or use a coder him nothing is wrong with your engine it is safe to drive only problem is it won’t allow you to use cruise control sometimes
