2007 Subaru Forester XT flashing engine light & cruise control light no exceleration but motor at high revs feels like slipping clutch but its an automatic

Go have the trouble codes read, that will tell you a lot about why the check engine light is on.

ECM needs an update. There is a Technical Service Bulletin about this where the power curve falters at 3K-4K RPM.
