Brake lights work tail lights dont

I have a 91 chevy pickup 5.3 5 spd my brake lights
are working but no tail lights or backup lights
checked the 3 way it's good fuses (that I think are
the right ones are fine

back up lights go to a switch on the tranny or shifter , running lights (tail lights) should go on with the headlights , you'll need a multi tester to see what has power and what don't , everything needs a good ground , old worn bulb sockets can do funny things

Ended up being the ground somehow lol but I'm not complaining
