why don't shifter gear selection work on center console

when dark selector lights don't come on, so I know what gear I,M in

sounds like a bad light bulb. the selector still selects though, right? will start to look for how this is done, then~

VERY COOL & EASY IF YOU GO SLOW. GETTING PLASTIC CRAP CONSOLE OUT IS EASY TO. LOOK FOR SCREWS, GO SLOW. I FIXED MINE ( THE WHOLE JOB IN 40MIN. AUTO HAS THE BULBS 2=$4.99 # 74LL. IT MOST LIKELY FITS MOST CARS.
