Dodge Ram Wont Start

Asked by DtIII Jan 23, 2018 at 03:20 PM about the 2007 Dodge RAM 1500 SLT Quad Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Truck broke down about a week ago.  Had it towed to my
house. We had bought a new battery started up sounded
great! Then when idle slowly glug glug glug, died. Wouldnt
start. Came out later about two hours, started up. Sounded
poor like a miss fire, then this time when holding idle, all of
my gauges fluctuate, battery, oil, what have ya. And my idle
fluctuates between 600-1100 Rpms.

Any Ideas? Happen to anyone before? Quick fix, or drain the
bank and expensive?

I am a subcontractor and need my truck and materials to
get back to work please help! Thanks.

Also i was told its not battery, not alternator, not gasket or heads, what could it be? Fuel filter/fuel injector? A stupid sensor of some sort?

I would start by disconnecting both battery terminals n let the computer discharge n reset. This should take around 30 minutes. Then hook er back up n try it again. Unless there was a power surge or some kinda physical damage done during the battery swap...it's also possible that the battery is too small for the current demands of the truck, are you sure the battery is the correct one?
