I have a 2008 Chevy impala  my starter had went out so i
replaced it then the car started but then kept turning off
and kept getting error on dash "It says service battery
charging system "  so i replaced the alternator and still the
same so i back track all my work and realize i connected
the starter wires wrong . Now everything is working fine .
P.s starter wires from car goes to one pin with nut the other  
pin by it self

Same exact thing is happening now to my 06 impala changed the starter and battery and service charging system light came on got new battery and alternator same thing happened numerous mechanics kept telling me same thing in going to check my starter asap thanks so much for posting this

I replaced my battery and alternator on my 2008 chevy impala, the battery charging system light goes on a a red battery on the dash any chance it could be the voltage regulator. Sometimes it starts other times it does not help, this has been going on for a week

Right I want to know as well my 08 Impala will start and run if I charge the battery but it's not charging in the car battery and alternator are good ... Looking at starter and noticed that the black wire from car turns red if you follow it ... Hopefully I understand the picture correctly I am about to try something
