Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Chevy Dealer in Lisle, cannot fix my engine light and I paid $300 for diagnostic
and labor. The light is on, how can I drive the car safely? If Dealer cannot fix it,
who else can?$300 for nothing done? What and where should I go if I stop at
the middle of the road?

This is why I avoid dealerships like the plague. They obviously did nothing to earn your money or your trust, in my opinion, you owe them nothing. If you paid with a credit card, stop payment and renegotiate their fee. Next, go to an auto parts store and have them scan your codes for free. They will explain it and you can Google those codes for more info. Also, it is probably not unsafe to continue driving your car, but take care of these repairs at an independent repair shop. Sorry about your bad experience....we've all had that treatment, and won't let it happen again.
