2008 expedition dash says all doors are ajar. Won't come out of park. It all
started with a battery drain. Tested alt and Battery both good.has short
started pulling fuses&plugs to fuse box. I put everything back and now I have
this problem.

With battery drain, the computer is messed up (about as technical a term as you'll ever find) take it to a trusted mechanic or dealer to have the computer "re-flashed" (sorta like a PC reboot)

The switches for the dome lights are built into the latch mechanism of the doors and not the separate push button switches of the past. I had to replace two of my door latches to get the problem solved. they were running the battery down by staying on all night.

Thank you both for your input. I'll take another look tonight and post back. I was assuming I had bumped something or even broke a wire to something while I was pulling fuses and plugs. I compleatly disconnected the inside fuse panel and my test light stayed on. I also messed around a little with the under hood fuse box as well. Do you think that is possible that I unplugged the PCM? Thank you both for you responses. Much appreciated!!

One more question, can I assume that it won't come out of park because of the truck thinking that the doors are really ajar?

So this must be two separate issues that may have been caused when I disconnected the fuse box. I did not have these two issues right before that. I saw online that you can completely erase the memory by disconnecting the negative battery cable and using a jumper wire to connect the negative battery cable while disconnected from the battery, to the positive battery cable and leave this way for about 10 minutes to completely erase all memory for any codes. In this video on YouTube it's suggested doing this anytime you do you work on the vehicle. Do you think something like this might help or do I need to retrace my steps with the fuse boxes that I was looking at? Sorry for the book!!

If you run a wire from the disconnected ground cable directly to the positive post, you will short the battery, possibly blow the alternator, at minimum burn your finger when the wire heats up and best case, not burn the car up!
