my 08 pt cruisers windshield wipers start up when right signal is activated ,what is going on with this

A defective turn signal lever (commonly referred to as a multifunction switch) can cause erratic operation of the turn signals and other exterior lights. Depending on the fault, a dead battery could result. I recommend replacing the failed switch
