Headlights question

I have a 2010 ford explorer, i just noticed
that when i lock it with remote and open
it again all lights turn on except
headlights now my wife says that they
used to come on as well i am not sure i
think they did ,any help please

I have a 1999 Ford explorer the headlight stays on by their self car off is there a way to turn the lights off when I turn the car off
