Hard to say without pulling code,s,but if engine is running normal, tempreture and drive,s ok,i would think it may be a oxygen sensor bad,

Anything that effects the vehicles emission systems, turns the check engine light on.
Thank you all for your help...I'll def look into it!
Could be as simple as the gas cap not being tight as well. Definitely have the code checked though to be safe.
Mine is doing this. Had codes pulled ( P0171 & P0174) and it’s oxygen intake or something. I’m guessing bad sensor since it doesn’t stay on but is intermittently and do random.
If it has more than 80,000 miles on it probably timing chains. Mine cost me over $2500 to diagnose and repair. Still doesn't run like it should so I'll be trading it off as soon as possible.
I used my auto start in -15 degree weather on Saturday and check engine light came on and stays on. Auto start doesn't work anymore.

I had the gas station reset my emissions light and then drove it 62 miles to see if it would then pass inspection, but it didn’t…. Would I be able to still see if there is an oxygen sensor issue via the codes now even though the emissions light is out? Thinking I could go to Autozone have them Read the codes, but no point in that if codes would be only when the light is on….
