What does the Car with the Lock going through it mean on the instrument panel? I can not start my car and it is frustrating as to why? When i get in the car lights turn on and instruments light up and radio turns on and everything but once i turn the key that light comes on and I can not start the car, can anyone provide some guidance on this matter?

Same problem with my 2012 Terrain. Didn't start on Saturday. Had it towed by the dealer. Called Monday they said they needed to order a new ECM. Picked it up yesterday and went straight home. Went to leave this morning - no start. Called them again. Went to get the spare key and tried it with that; it started. So I tried my regular key again and it worked. Drove to the dealer to check it out. He claimed he didn't tell me that both keys needed to be reprogramed. Went out to their lot to go home and it didn't start again!! Back to the loaner. He said they reprogrammed the ECM and another something and the keys, but he wasn't convinced it would work. He 'thinks' the one key is bad. I find that a bit suspicious that both the ECM and key would go bad on one weekend. 'He' is the service mgr, not the mechanic.

Inmy older Buick w/remote start and I believe I was told on this one also, if the car is locked, and you remote start it, you have to get inside and press the unlock button. I'm not sure if you have to turn it off before pressing the unlock button, or can do it while running. In my older Buick, I had to press the lock button, then the unlock button. It sounds like you got a dunce service writer who made an attempt to blow smoke up your wallet.
