How do I restart the MFI in my 2010 Jetta after changing the battery?
I had tried to have Advance Auto put a new battery in, but they refused,
saying they didn't to be responsible if the electronics got screwed up. I was
like, huh? It's a battery, I've changed them a half dozen times in other cars;
no problemo. So, I had Sears put one in. Eight months down the road, I get
an oil change and guess what: the service reminder from the last oil
change can't be reset, along with everything else on the MFI. In fact, NO
menu even comes up. Advance Auto was right!
Thank you. Wish I --- and Sears --- had known about this. And I had gotten the oil change at the dealer. You'd have thought that they would have noticed that they couldn't reset the service reminder and called me.
So a simple power supply via 12V socket will keep the computer sustained for a battery change?
