My 2010 VW Jetta TDI radio died and took it out.

Asked by Grant Feb 16, 2016 at 06:29 PM about the 2010 Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen TDI FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I took out the radio myself at home and looked into getting an aftermarket
but would have lost some of the features from the original.  Had it replaced
at dealer "first mistake".  Took about an hour to replace and set up.
Worked fine but noticed on the way home my old radio was not in the car.
I just happened to take it with me in case they needed part info off it.  I
called the service guy and he said that the original cost for a new radio
was actually $500 more than what i paid and I was actually getting a
"discount" on the new one that was installed and that's why they kept the
old one to send it back.  Neither the parts nor service department told me
this in several conversations before and after arriving at dealership.
Somebody is making some money on refurbs.  Should have bought the
aftermarket radio but wiring harness for VW's drives up the price to almost
the cost of the Delphi VW model.  Lots of 2010 VW radios having problems.
With all that VW has going on you'd think they would be a bit more up front
on their end and cover their bases communicating in a complete, succinct
and professional way.  Love my TDI but dealer... well that's another story to
put it nicely.

VW upfront!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! I'm stuck with my 11 sportwagen till all the emissions B.S. is over because my book value is $4500 less than it was 5 months ago. But here is your answer. Google Blaupunkt Philadelphia 845 and you'll be in love I think.
