Void the warrantee?

Question type: Car Customization

My girlfriend just bought a 2012 Ford Escape. She
bought the warrantee with it and now she wants to
have me fix it up a bit for her [k&n filter, exaust
system] but she's afraid doing that will void the
warrantee that she bought with the truck. Will it
void the warrantee, or not? Or is there certain
restrictions on what you can do to it?

Contrary to my contemporary...the K&N is a substantial upgrade from a paper filter which has to be replaced over and over, throughout the vehicle's life. The K&N may flow a bit more, but what is certain, is that you have the best grade of filtration, and when it gets dirty, you can pull it out and wash it! Re-oil, and she is as good as new! Now, as for the exhaust...it really comes down to what you like...or she likes...in the categories of sound and appearance. You may obtain slightly better flow rates with a larger diameter and smoother bent system, and add a high flow converter and muffler to complete your design....you will have something unique and effective. Most importantly, you can appreciate the sound of your own custom exhaust system! Also, "Saving Money," will never give you that feeling....blah!

Yes,it is a 3rd party warranty that she bought. And as far as the exhaust systems she was just wanting to go with a cat-back system from either flowmaster or Gibson.i thought the maf sensor only tells the ecu how much air is in the throttle body to tell how much gas to put in? If that's the case then the more more air you get from the k&n the more gas you get thus more hp or better fuel economy as well as better filtration than a standard paper filter? Am i wrong?

I'll tell her about it, thank you. I can't say she won't still want the k&n but I'm doing my part lol
