Car starts but will not shift out of park. We have brake lights and have checked the fuses? What else could be wrong

I had the same thing happen to me 2 years ago, there is a pink plastic selector that probably broke and that is why you cannot shift out of park. there is a quick work around https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MWdfxsRzkY this will allow you to shift out of park but the long term fix is to by the bullit alumium http://www.uprproducts.com/dodge-chrysler-billet-park-lockout.html
