Asked by Tribesman Aug 11, 2015 at 08:11 PM about the 2012 Kia Rio EX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I brought my Kia Rio from New Zealand 2013 to Ireland to take up residence there. I had it serviced last year. At present 12000 kl clocked. Bearing in mind my warrenty has run out. Once brought to Ireland warrenty is only 3 years. So motor is going perfect and is automatic and i look after it great. So do i really need to service yet at that milage.

OK, you realize I hope that it's not just mileage on a car, but time. Yes, 12,000 kilometers is just under 7,500 miles, but, you mean that you've never had an oil change since you purchased the car in 2013? I don't think that's a wise idea. I would definitely recommend getting it serviced right now.

I see you have had it serviced once, great, but, cars need an oil change at least once every 10 to 12 months and that's using synthetic oil. Good luck.

Had oil and filter change after 6 months in New Zealand free. and last year service in Ireland.

It depends of your engine type. If you have the 1.4 L, your service is every 30,000 km or 2 years. If not, 12,000 km or once a year.
