Asked by Guru7YNDS Jun 06, 2020 at 03:15 PM about the 2004 Ford Ranger 2 Dr XLT 4WD Extended Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2004 Ranger. I want to flat tow it. (four wheels down)  be hind my
motor home. It has auto transmission and is 4wd.  If I put a Borg Warner kit
that changes the transfer case to manual from electronic and then put the gear
shift in neutral and have the transfer case in neutral can I flat toe it behind my
motor home at 65 mph?

1 Answer

If you can put the transfer case in neutral this should work. One other alternative is a drive line disconnect. You also need a brake setup for the Ranger.
