Why is the 4WD light on?

Asked by makeithappenhow Feb 29, 2020 at 04:38 PM about the 2014 Jeep Patriot Latitude 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2014 Jeep Patriot Latitude 4WD 2.4 eng.
After starting the vehicle and driving for a while
this 4WD! light comes on and remains on until
after I turn off the vehicle. What most likely causes
the light to come on and stay on? FYI: The light
came on immediately after the rear wheel
assembly hubs on both sides were charged. The
traction light was on as well too but after having
the inner and outer tie rods put on the traction light
hasn't come back on, only the 4WD! light.
