When I shut off headlights on my 2000 Corvette, both close then the drivers side opens again but the light is off. How do I get it to shut? The passenger side works fine. thanks

Okay there are a pair of 30 amp fuses...one's okay....the other one isn't~
might want to check your grounds....

always the 1/0 battery cable seems to be corroded at the point where it attaches to the fender/ground spot...what you must do is take the bolt off and wirebrush the lug till shiny and the chassis as well...put 'em together for a 300 amp cold cranking ground potential~...also the ECU, sensors such as the heated 02 sensor will be able to read correctly....relays will function properly with full 12 volts instead of 10.5 and fuel pumps will turn properly again....high voltage 30,000 volts will not be droppin' down to 20,000...a healthy electrical system starts with point 1 the main ground connection~
You may also want to check the headlight motor gear: http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/forums/c5-technical-performance/55141-headlight-problems.html
u know about manually putting them up(and i think down) there is an adjustment knob on the headlight motor, turn it counter clockwise and u should have manual control
